Habitat East Bay/Silicon Valley Women's Crew recruits and empowers women to build together, fundraise, and advocate for safe and affordable homes in our communities.
The Women's Crew builds on the 2nd Saturday of each month at a construction site in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Women’s Crew is currently volunteering at Muir Ridge development in Martinez.
Women’s Crew is open to women, 16 years and older, of all experience and skill levels. By working together on site, Women’s Crew members teach each other and learn from construction staff and help get the job done. Being able to work alongside Habitat families, staff and other driven, dedicated women is a rewarding experience that forms friendships far past the construction site.
Women’s Crew fundraises on behalf of Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. The Women’s Crew regularly sponsors Habitat homes to helpthe many families in need of safe, affordable place to call home.
In partnership with Habitat for Humanity International and Lowe’s, we hold National Women Build Week building event every year in the Spring. Please contact a volunteer coordinator for more information about this year’s event!
1) Become familiar with Habitat EBSV by volunteering at least two times in some capacity (construction site, in the office, serve on a committee, or volunteer at the ReStore). Sign up to volunteer today!
2) After you have volunteered, send a message to letting our volunteer coordinators know you have completed the requirements and would like to be a member of the Women’s Crew.
It’s that easy! You are also encouraged to attend one of our upcoming meetings (you do not need to be a member) to learn more about the Women’s Crew. We hold one meeting per quarter. Please email a volunteer coordinator to learn about the next meeting date.
Our Women’s Crew has a long tradition in the East Bay and began in the Mount Diablo Habitat for Humanity affiliate. We are looking for dedicated women to lead the foundation of a South Bay Women’s Crew for Santa Clara County. If interested in starting a South Bay Women’s Crew, please contact a volunteer coordinator for more information.
