Bidding Farewell to AmeriCorps Crew Leaders

Bidding Farewell to AmeriCorps Crew Leaders

July marks the last month for many of our AmeriCorps Crew Leaders’ year of service with Habitat EB/SV. These AmeriCorps members have played a vital role in our mission as they have stood side by side with partner families, volunteers and construction staff members to help build more affordable housing opportunities in the Bay Area.  We cannot thank our AmeriCorps members enough for sharing their time and talents with our affiliate!

Since 1997, Habitat East Bay/Silicon Valley has partnered with the AmeriCorps National Service Program to aid in our mission to offer families decent, affordable housing by providing hands-on help through volunteerism.  Habitat East Bay/Silicon Valley hosts AmeriCorps volunteers on construction sites as crew leaders where volunteers learn the ins and outs of building a home. AmeriCorps volunteers also serve in our office where they work along side our staff in our volunteer and homeowner programs. We value the time and impact our AmeriCorps volunteers dedicate to our affiliate. It is with their help that we are able to serve hundreds of families each year. We are sad as many of our current AmeriCorps volunteers’ time draws to an end, but we are excited to welcome new faces eager to make a difference.

Positions for the new service year are still available but closing soon. Click here if you're interested in applying for an AmeriCorps position and serving Habitat East Bay Silicon Valley.
