30th Anniversary

This year marks an exciting milestone for Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. In 2016, we celebrate 30 years of building homes and empowering families through decent, affordable housing. Habitat was founded on the vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. That vision was our driving force back in 1986 and continues to propel us forward today.

We are proud of what we have accomplished as a Habitat community. Since our founding in 1986, we have served 6,865 people through homeownership, critical home repair, homebuyer counseling, and building efforts abroad.

Thank you for sharing our vision and being a part of Habitat’s rich history.

President & CEO, Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley

On April 25, 1993, Habitat East Bay welcomed home Charline Young and her family into our development off 2nd St. in Richmond where they still live today. This five-home development was East Bay’s first multi, new- home development!
On July 19, 1997, Habitat Bay and Valley hosted a dedication celebration where the Marfil family received the keys to their Habitat home. Irma Marfil is pictured cutting the caution tape, on the front porch of their Mission Street home in San Jose.
