Construction Update: February

Written by Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley | February 21, 2020

Fremont (Central Commons – 30 new homes, 2nd phase): We’re making progress on the exterior and interior of these homes, with more roof work outside and chase work inside. Volunteers are installing handrails, kitchen cabinets, and porch lighting. There’s quite a bit to be done, but many hands make light work! So, if you’d like to help us lighten the load, join us at Central Commons!

San Jose (Bridge Housing Communities – 1590 Las Plumas Ave., San Jose): Now that our first Bridge House Community is complete – with 40 cabins already helping our unhoused neighbors transition into permanent housing – it’s time to build more! We’re back at our production yard, resetting for phase 2, which involves cleaning up, inventory, and reorganizing. Also, we’ve been working on prototypes to test a few design changes for our next Bridge Housing Community. Stay tuned – soon, we’ll need your help to build the next 40 cabins!
