Four New Members Join Habitat for Humanity’s Board of Directors

Habitat East Bay/Silicon Valley’s new Directors offer fresh perspectives and expertise

OAKLAND, CALIF. (September 30, 2025) — In one of the country’s most unforgiving housing markets, Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley relies on visionary leadership when it comes to effectively widening the bridge to homeownership for more of our neighbors. Recently, the nonprofit welcomed four new members to its Board of Directors, whose diverse skill sets and deep experience promise a judicious but innovative perspective in navigating a challenging climate.

Faye Beverett is retired from a career in institutional real estate investment, most recently as Principal at Bard Consulting. Prior to joining the Board, Ms. Beverett has lent her expertise, research, analysis, and consultation to the Habitat team in evaluating property donations. As a Board member, Ms. Beverett hopes to deepen her knowledge of Habitat’s local developments and breadth of programs and services, while supporting the organization’s evolution and potential for greater impact.

David Ridlehuber is a Construction Project Manager with AvalonBay Communities, and a passionate advocate for Habitat’s mission at his workplace. Mr. Ridlehuber’s stewardship has been instrumental in building support for Habitat at his organization and engagement among his colleagues, doubling down on his personal volunteerism with Habitat. Mr. Ridlehuber looks forward to bringing both his industry experience and his personal commitment to his leadership on the Board.

Nick Stoughton is Principal Firmware Engineer at Eargo, with decades of experience in the software engineering field. He also has over two decades under his belt of volunteerism with Habitat East Bay/Silicon Valley, becoming a weekly fixture on construction sites and an indispensable crew leader at build events. Mr. Stoughton has taken his dedication to the mission abroad, leading teams of volunteers in El Salvador, Cambodia, Malawi, and Nepal. Mr. Stoughton is eager to bring his volunteerism into the boardroom, combining it with a long professional record of creativity and collaboration to drive Habitat’s mission forward.

Richard Wada serves as Chief Lending Officer at Patelco Credit Union, a longtime Habitat partner. In his capacity at Patelco, Mr. Wada has made a special commitment to paving a path to homeownership for low- and moderate-income households. As a member of Patelco’s executive leadership team, Mr. Wada plays an instrumental role in his organization’s strategic planning, growth, innovation, and operational soundness. With both his personal and professional commitment to housing opportunity—together with keen governance and leadership insight—Mr. Wada aims to support Habitat’s sustainable development and future growth.

“We are facing profound challenges when it comes to building affordable housing, and we need experienced, forward-thinking, and impassioned leadership on our side,” said Janice Jensen, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. “With the addition of these four new Directors, Habitat is well positioned to surmount these obstacles and serve our communities with confidence.”

Habitat East Bay/Silicon Valley board members serve two-year terms, during which they participate in strategic and budget planning, stewardship of resources, organizational oversight, and more. Ultimately, they work to ensure the organization’s effectiveness, sustainability, and adherence to its mission to build homes, communities, and hope.
