Home Repairs Made Affordable

Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley offers 2 programs in Fremont to make affordable repairs.

In partnership with the City of Fremont, Habitat offers home repair grants to single family, condo, townhome, and mobile home owners.

Habitat also administers the Renew Alameda County program, funded by Measure A1 Bond funds, for projects from $15,000 - $200,000. Renew provides 1% interest loans with no payments to qualified homeowners. While the program is an Alameda County Housing & Community Development initiative, the program is operated by Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley.

Requirements

Grants
A limited number of grants will are awarded annually for single family, condo, townhome, and mobile homes.
Required Documentation
  • Photo IDs and Proof of Legal Residency for all Applicants
  • Copy of Certificate of Title 
  • Proof of occupancy (including space lease agreement if in a mobile home)
  • Copy of Homeowner’s Insurance Policy
  • Income documentation for all household members 18 years of age and older  
Requirements

To qualify for the program you must:

  • Own your home. Exception: Renters with a disabled household member who requires reasonable accommodations may qualify for a grant.
  • Live in your home. 
  • Earn no more than the maximum income for your household size, in chart below. Maximum Income depends on the number of people in your household not including full-time caregivers.

Submit a Request for Service form online or by mail below. This request is your opportunity to tell us about yourself and your home repair needs.

Habitat follow up

Once we receive your Request for Service, Habitat will review your submission and contact you with further questions or requests for more information and required documentation.

Inspection

After your request has been reviewed by Habitat, a professional contractor will visit your home to inspect requested repairs and create a plan to complete the repairs,
