It may be an El Nino year but even a lot of rain won't stop Habitat volunteers! When the weather looks gray, Habitat has indoor volunteer opportunities for individuals and corporate teams. If you're looking for things to do on a rainy weekend, look no further!
Here are three winter volunteer opportunities that help you enjoy any type of weather!
1. Volunteer Building Homes
With phase one at Esperanza Place nearing completion, so does the realization of a dream for 23 families. And that means finishing touches on these homes, with lots of interior work needed to ready them for their new homeowners. There’s no reason for rain-clouds to keep you from getting hands-on and making a concrete difference in the lives of local families.
Whether it’s on the construction site, in one of our Playhouse Workshops, or at your neighborhood ReStore, Habitat has year-round volunteer opportunities for you or even you and your co-workers! Corporations volunteer with Habitat by making a donation, and letting us curate a fun, hands-on day of team building that your group will never forget. We can even help you to incorporate a team meeting or meal into your day. This time of year is the perfect time to reflect on your values as a team and to take meaningful action that will help your team build bonds as you build community.
So, don’t let wet weather dampen your spirits. There’s no better way to brighten your day than to brighten our community’s future.
