1. Volunteer Building Homes

With phase one at Esperanza Place nearing completion, so does the realization of a dream for 23 families. And that means finishing touches on these homes, with lots of interior work needed to ready them for their new homeowners. There’s no reason for rain-clouds to keep you from getting hands-on and making a concrete difference in the lives of local families.

 

2. Building Playhouses for Children

Volunteer in Oakland and Milpitas! We have two Playhouse Workshops in Milpitas and Oakland, where you can dodge the raindrops with the cutest way to combat the housing crisis. Our workshops can host full-featured sponsor build events, resulting in beautiful child-sized playhouses with custom artistic details that will be donated to local families. And, to help us get ready for these events, we need volunteers throughout the week to prepare materials.

3. ReStore Retail Volunteers


You can also stay dry while giving back by pitching in at one of our three ReStores. Our ReStores are home improvement with a heart, and their proceeds support affordable housing in our communities. Whether you come out and volunteer in Concord, Oakland, or San Jose, we would be grateful to have your help in-store to process donations, keep inventory flowing, and assist our shoppers.

Whether it’s on the construction site, in one of our Playhouse Workshops, or at your neighborhood ReStore, Habitat has year-round volunteer opportunities for you or even you and your co-workers! Corporations volunteer with Habitat by making a donation, and letting us curate a fun, hands-on day of team building that your group will never forget. We can even help you to incorporate a team meeting or meal into your day. This time of year is the perfect time to reflect on your values as a team and to take meaningful action that will help your team build bonds as you build community. 

So, don’t let wet weather dampen your spirits. There’s no better way to brighten your day than to brighten our community’s future.
