To celebrate Affordable Housing Month and National Historic Preservation Month, we’re giving an up-close look at a one-of-a-kind project under way in the heart of San Jose. When the Pallesen Apartments building faced demolition, Habitat for Humanity and the Preservation Action Council of San Jose united to save this historic building. After a tremendous show of community support and a momentous move to a City-donated lot, Habitat volunteers are well into a massive renovation effort.
Join us for an inside look at the history and the future of this amazing building – and the creative collaboration that is transforming heritage into affordable homeownership for four local families.
