Jimmy Carter Memorial

This week Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley will join Habitat organizations around the world in setting up memorial doors in tribute to the late President Jimmy Carter, who opened doors for thousands of Habitat homeowners during his four decades of volunteerism and advocacy.
You’re invited to join us, sign the memorials, and pay tribute to President Carter on this National Day of Mourning.
When: Thursday, January 9th from 9am-4pm
Where:
- Oakland: The Amphitheatre in front of City Hall, 1 Frank Ogawa Plaza
- San Jose: The East Plaza of City Hall, 200 E. Santa Clara Street
Habitat has chosen Oakland and San Jose as sites for the Carter memorials, as an homage to the late President’s time building Habitat homes in these two cities in 2013.

Oakland City Hall: The Amphitheatre in front of City Hall, 1 Frank Ogawa Plaza
- Oakland City Hall is easily accessible from 12th Street BART, and parking is available nearby at the City Center West Garage
San Jose City Hall: The East Plaza of City Hall, 200 E. Santa Clara Street
- San Jose City Hall is easily accessible via bus and light rail, and parking is available nearby at the 4th Street Garage and City Hall Garage
