Funding Provided &
Requirements

Emergency Repair and Accessibility Grants

Minor repairs are funded by a grant from your city government, so the repairs have no cost to you. Grants are meant to address health and safety issues. Common uses for the grant program are repairing doors, windows, and porches; replacing water heaters; or minor plumbing and electrical work.

Home Rehabilitation Loans

For major repairs, one-time loans up to $75,000 are available. With an affordable 3% simple annualized interest, loans can be either amortized (requiring monthly payments), or deferred (no monthly payments) for a 15-year term. Loans are not to be used for a home about to be sold, or to subsidize renovations already under construction. Mobile or manufactured homes are ineligible.

Common uses for the loan program include: reroofing, sewer line replacement, furnace installation, electrical/plumbing repair, and termite and dry rot damage repair.
