Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley partners with Rebuilding Together East Bay Network to offer two programs in Contra Costa County. Both programs provide affordable home repairs and help make your home safer. 

Home Repairs for Mobile Homes
Habitat provides home loans to low-income homeowners of mobile homes. 

Home Modifications for Seniors
Habitat administers the Older Adults Home Modification program which provides free home safety modifications to seniors.

THE HOME REPAIR APPLICATION PROCESS

Request for Service

Submit a Request for Service form online or by mail below. This request is your opportunity to tell us about yourself and your home repair needs.

Habitat follow up

Once we receive your Request for Service, Habitat will review your submission and contact you with further questions or requests for more information and required documentation.

Inspection

After your request has been reviewed by Habitat, a professional contractor will visit your home to inspect requested repairs and create a plan to complete the repairs,

Funding Provided &
Requirements

A limited number of home repair loans are available. Repair assessments are made by Rebuilding Together East Bay Network staff to determine the scope of work and funding needed for a given property.

Loans have a 0% interest rate and have a 20-year term without monthly payments (deferred). Additionally, after the first 10 years, 10% of the loan will be forgiven each subsequent year. 

Common uses for the loan program include reroofing, sewer line replacement, furnace installation, electrical/plumbing repair, and termite and dry rot damage repair

Requirements

To qualify for the program you must:

  • Own and live in a mobile home in Contra Costa County's urban county area
  • The Loan to Value Ratio of all loans secured by the mobile home, including the value of the loan through this program, cannot exceed 105% of the value of the mobile home.
  • Earn no more than the maximum income for your household size, in chart below. Maximum Income depends on the number of people in your household not including full-time caregivers.

  • Photo IDs and Proof of Legal Residency for all Applicants
  • Copy of Certificate of Title 
  • Proof of occupancy (space lease agreement)
  • Copy of Homeowner’s Insurance Policy
  • Income documentation for all household members 18 years of age and older
