In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we took our annual Women’s Leadership Build from the construction site to the comfort participant’s homes. While we couldn’t build homes side-by-side this year, we had the power to connect, empower, and, yes, build with even more women and their allies.
Throughout the month of May, women signed up to participate as “virtual” volunteers. As virtual volunteers, this community of women builders received a series of six “episodes” that took them on a journey to show how their involvement, even from afar, continues to build change for families, communities, and our volunteers themselves.
When you donate as part of the Women's Leadership Build, you're helping us reach our $200,000 goal.
Together, we can complete this development and build real dreams, real futures, real houses – that 19 families will call home. Just $54,266 will get us there.
Shifting to from an on-site build to an online event wasn’t easy, but we were able to do it with the support of our 2020 Women’s Leadership Build virtual volunteers and sponsors. Together, this community showed the power of women, the power of togetherness, and the power of change. Thanks to supporters like you, families have the opportunity to achieve what they thought nearly impossible – strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
Whether through home preservation, new home construction, or housing and financial counseling, Habitat builds a foundation for families to thrive, and together, we build more.
It's not too late to join our community! Follow our Women’s Leadership Build Facebook group and share what you love about the work we’re doing together, how or why you got involved, or what inspires you – whatever it is, share it with us!
