Current Construction Project Updates

Esperanza Place, New Home Development - Walnut Creek

Take a look at Esperanza Place these days, and you're likely to see some holiday decorations, a cat peeking out of the odd window, and moving vans in the parking lot. That's because Phase 1's homeowners are starting to move in!

As we celebrate these amazing milestones, we turn our attention to the final 19 homes of the neighborhood. That means lining up the funding we need to get construction fully under way and our volunteers on site. Want to help get us to that start line? Give before December 31st to reap tax benefits in 2024!

4th and Reed, Home Renovation - San Jose

This century-old beauty is looking rejuvenated! With outside painting complete, the roof tiles not far behind, and scaffolding coming down, the building's exterior is just about done.

We look forward to starting the new year with work on the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems inside, followed by drywall and insulation. Keep an eye on Volunteer Hub for volunteer opportunities in San Jose and elsewhere!

Sequoia Grove, New Home Development - Hayward

With permits in hand, we are well into underground utility work and Habitat staff has begun construction on the first two foundation slabs! That means we're not far off from going vertical at this 10-home development – our "greenest" yet! Look out in late winter and early spring for your chance to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in Hayward!
