Thinking of becoming a homeowner? Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley is here to help! Purchasing a home for the first time can be daunting for anybody. Where do I start? Can I afford to buy? How do I qualify for a loan?

To help answer these questions and more, Habitat EBSV is proud to offer a First-Time Homebuyer Class.

Feburary 17, 2018 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.)

This is a HUD-certified class designed for anyone thinking about buying or ready to buy a first home.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Advantages and disadvantages of homeownership
  • How much home can I afford?
  • Credit and credit scores
  • Negotiating the purchase
  • Shopping for a loan and the loan process
  • Closing process and documents
  • Obligations as a homeowner
  • Household budgeting

Homeowner Orientation

Join us for a one hour presentation on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. (chek-in at 9:30 a.m.) to learn about current and future Habitat homeownership opportunities in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara counties.

  • Please arrive on time for your attendance at the orientation to count toward Habitat’s homeownership requirements.
  • Orientation will be held in English.
  • Adults only please.
  • Individuals will be admitted on a first come, first served basis.
Path to Homeownership

Join us for a one hour “Path to Homeownership” FREE workshop at the Fremont Main Library and learn basic information regarding the home buying process including:

  • Preparing for Homeownership - building assets & money management
  • How to qualify for a mortgage – what a lender looks for
  • Home loan programs & homebuyer resources
  • Predatory lending – what to look out for

Note: This is NOT a Habitat Homeowner Orientation. Attendance is not required as part of the application process for the Habitat homeownership program.
