July Construction Update

Current Construction Project Updates
Esperanza Place, New Home Development - Walnut Creek
We're down to the final touches on these 23 townhomes of the first phase of this development in Walnut Creek. Habitat staff and volunteers are building trash enclosures, finishing new fences, and completing the interior punchlist. Final inspections are being scheduled, and we anticipate the first phase of this project to be completed by next month!
4th and Reed, Home Renovation - San Jose
Our team is in the homestretch of re-framing and siding to transform this century-old apartment building into four affordable homes! Installing new plumbing and electrical work is also almost complete. Next month we hope to start re-roofing!
Sequoia Grove, New Home Development - Hayward
This new 10-home development in Hayward is officially under way! We have finished soil remediation and are in the process of securing all our permits to begin construction. We expect to start sitework next month with volunteer opportunities opening up in October, so stay tuned for more updates!
Other Volunteer Opportunities
ReStore
We have a variety of volunteer opportunities at our ReStores in Concord, San Jose, and Oakland. Whether it’s on the floor helping with merchandising or in the passenger seat riding alongside to assist with donation pick-ups, join our ReStore team to help raise critical funds for Habitat's housing projects.
Playhouse Prep
Join us in our Oakland or Milpitas workshops to prep parts for Playhouse builds. In order to host Playhouse events that raise critical funds for Habitat, we need to “prep” the playhouse pieces beforehand. During a typical Prep day, volunteers will cut and base-paint all the wood components of a playhouse. No carpentry experience necessary! Whether you are new to a workshop, an experienced carpenter, or somewhere in between, sign up to volunteer with us to learn new skills, have fun, and support affordable housing!
