Habitat for Humanity Opens Spacious New ReStore Location in Concord

Grand Opening Celebrates Major Upgrade for the Charity Home Improvement Store

CONCORD, CALIF. (March 3, 2023) — A local favorite of home improvement bargain hunters, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, is moving to its new home in the heart of Concord. Just a couple miles up the road from its previous storefront, the new location offers double the space and an improved experience for shoppers and donors alike. The store is celebrating its upgrade with a Ribbon Cutting on Friday, March 10, followed by a community Grand Opening on Saturday, March 11.

The new store is amply supplied with home goods – from furniture and appliances to building materials and décor – donated by the community. With the store’s increased footprint comes higher capacity for donation processing and a more convenient experience for those looking for a green way to offload gently used, pre-loved home goods while benefiting Habitat for Humanity’s work in the community.

Likewise, ReStore shoppers used to digging for deals in previously tight quarters can look forward to spacious showrooms and wide aisles – and accommodating more shoppers means ReStore can bring in more proceeds that help Habitat to build and preserve affordable homes, while counseling people toward homeownership and other financial goals.

“There’s a lot to celebrate about this new location, with twice the space, a beautiful layout, and a gorgeous showcase for our inventory,” said Janice Jensen, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. “Most of all, though, I’m excited because it means that ReStore can make an even bigger impact on Habitat’s work in the community.”

While the new location has been open to shoppers for several weeks, the Concord Chamber of Commerce and local dignitaries will make it official at the Ribbon Cutting on March 10, while the Grand Opening event on March 11 promises a celebratory atmosphere with food, music, games, special deals, and giveaways for the day’s first shoppers starting at 9am. Both events will be held at the new Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Concord at 2080 Diamond Boulevard.
