San Jose (Bridge Housing Communities – 928 Felipe Avenue): All 40 cabins have made their way to the Bridge Housing Community on Felipe Avenue! Over the past month, volunteers and staff have been busy completing the following tasks: exterior trim, accent siding, interior painting, roofing, flooring, installing baseboards, exterior painting, and finish electrical. Now, all 40 cabins have touched down at the Felipe Avenue site, where we’ll work on prepping for deck foundations, planter boxes, cabin levelling and anchoring, boardwalks, and other pre-cutting tasks. We’re excited to see this community take shape and offer a place of opportunity to more of our unhoused neighbors.

San Jose (Emergency Interim Housing - 2090 Evans Lane): Earlier this summer, we expanded our partnership with the City of San Jose to help protect our unhoused neighbors most vulnerable to contracting and spreading COVID-19. By building transitional housing for 108 residents at a time, we ensure that they can self-isolate, access sanitation facilities, and benefit from key services. The site on Evans Lane is now taking shape, with our team busy getting housing units installed and community buildings readied with skirting prep, drainage systems, and exterior lights.

Walnut Creek (Esperanza Place – 1250 Las Juntas Way – 42 new homes, pre-construction): We’re getting excited to break ground on this new development, but before we put shovel to earth, there are preparations to be made. This month we’ll be working on erosion control to get ready for sitework.
