Workplace Giving

Make your support go even further when you give through your employer! When you give to Habitat through your workplace, you access opportunities to multiply your gift and make an even greater impact for the families and communities Habitat serves. Below are a few ways you can partner with your employer and increase your impact.

Payroll Deductions

Setup a one-time or recurring payroll deduction from your paycheck. These are deducted automatically and are tax deductible. All gift sizes matter and can add up over time for big impact. Plus, when you set up a monthly donation, you’ll join our Carpenter’s Club where you’ll receive exclusive invites to special events!
Giving Campaigns

Join company-led giving campaigns and direct your contribution to Habitat. You can start your own campaign by creating your own fundraiser, which allows you to personalize it and share why Habitat matters to you with your network.
Matching Gifts

Submit a matching gift request for your company to financially match your donation. This can make your donation go further by doubling (or tripling) your donation!
Volunteer Grants

Submit a volunteer grant request for your company to make a financial grant based on your volunteer hours. This enables you to make a difference through time, talent, and treasure.

Other Programs

Check with your employer if they offer other workplace giving programs. For example, some companies have giving benefits for retirees or employees’ spouses. Some employers partner with United Way to distribute funds to nonprofits. See if your local United Way campaign includes Habitat, and if not, you can submit a request to add Habitat to the list.

How can I check if my employer has a matching gifts program or volunteer grants program?

Use our Companies That Match search tool to see if your company has either of these programs, or you can reach out directly to your company’s HR or corporate philanthropy team to ask.

How do I submit a matching gift request or volunteer grant request?

Most companies partner with an online giving platform, such as Benevity, Bright Funds, or YourCause, to manage employees’ donations and volunteer hours. Once you find out if your company offers a matching gifts program or volunteer grants program, you can use your company’s portal to donate to Habitat and request a matching gift at the same time. To check if your company matches gifts, use the Companies That Match search tool above.

How can I direct my donation made through my employer, company matching gift, or volunteer grant towards a specific program or project?

When you make your donation, submit your matching gift request, or submit your volunteer grant request, include in the designation or comments field the program or project you want these funds to go towards.

I’ve submitted my matching gift request or volunteer grant request. When will your organization receive the funds?

It can take one month to several months depending on the online giving platform’s processes. Check with your HR or corporate philanthropy team on the schedule.

I don’t see Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley listed in my employer’s online giving portal. How do I add your organization?

Contact your company’s HR or corporate philanthropy team to see what requirements and information are needed to add Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley to your company’s online giving portal.
